Welcome to our school; where we encourage all children to let their light shine and to encourage the light in others.
'Let Your Light Shine' is at the heart of everything we do at Clifton. We support each member of our inclusive, caring school family to develop educationally, spiritually and morally by living and learning through Christian values, so that we can all achieve our best.
As a school, we demonstrate and celebrate the following Christian values of: Generosity, Compassion, Courage, Forgiveness, Friendship, Respect, Thankfulness, Trust, Perseverance, Justice, Service and Truthfulness in a supportive atmosphere of mutual respect and trust.
We have chosen Matthew 5:14-16:
These words remind us that a light should not be hidden; it should give light to everyone, including one's self.
As a school, our job is to find a child's spark and inspire and encourage them to shine their own light brightly- to be proud of their personal achievements; to value and respect themselves; and to know how loved they are, both by God and others.
We aim to develop a 'Growth Mindset' so that the members of our school are able to face the future with hope and aspiration and embrace all that life has to offer.
We refer to the candle throughout our school as we believe the symbolism of light represents each person- through their own talents, personalities and feelings and in the way they treat others.
When we are in possession of God's light and love, it is possible for us to brighten the lives of our family, school, community and world. Our hope is that light will shine from Clifton School in many ways everyday- for the benefit of all and for the glory of God.
All pupils and staff wear a candle badge to remind them: of our school vision, that the light of God is always with them and to let their light shine for all to see.
Our school song is 'Candle on the Water' and pupils are encouraged to use the 'Clifton Candle' to communicate their feelings to others and support each other.
Today was a very special day for us as we introduced our brand new school vision to our wider school family. We marked the occasion with a beautiful Service of Light led by our pupils and Reverand Nigel in Holy Trinity Church, Clifton.
