In order to make the most of all the learning opportunities, your child needs to be in school. We pride ourselves in having excellent attendance; our children love coming to school. We aim to make children’s learning experiences as stimulating and exciting as possible, so that they continue to love coming to school. We ask that you play your part in ensuring they arrive promptly each day ready to start the day by 8.40am.
Our most recent attendance figures are:
Annual attendance September 2022 to July 2023: 96.07%.
This is well above the national average.
Holidays in Term Time
Since September 2013, under official regulations schools are:
NOT ALLOWED to authorise leave of absence for family holidays.
Headteachers may not grant any leave of absence for students during term time unless there are “exceptional” circumstances, for example: attendance at a funeral. “Exceptional” in this case meaning “an unavoidable, very important event”, not “exceptional” as in “an opportunity to do something outside of the norm” like a holiday.
In summary:
Any requests for leave due to exceptional circumstances, should be made on an official 'Leave of absence request form' and handed in to the school office at least two weeks prior to any leave arrangements being made.
You may be issued with a penalty notice, should leave be taken which has not been authorised.
