What a fabulous Red Nose Day we had! We raised £202.89 for Comic Relief and were visited by the BBC East Midlands Today film crew who came to interview our very own Red Nose Enthusiast and his amazing collection of memorabilia!
A huge thank you to Tim Baker and Simon Hellaby for visiting us. Thank you for showing us this year's shrovetide Balls and for sharing your knowledge. The children really enjoyed reciting Don Lowndes Shrovetide Poem to you. It was lovely to have Tim back at Clifton for lunch with it being the school he attended as a child!
Thank you to Mrs Hart and team for clearing out the pond; just in time for the warmer weather and the frogs producing spawn. The children will enjoy dipping and watching the spawn transform.

Ashbourne Lodge Care Home, Ashbourne- Clifton and Osmaston Choirs joined together to spread some Christmas cheer.
As part of their Tree Festival, we have decorated a tree in St Oswalds Church. Our Tree represents our school vision:' Let your light shine' and every class has created their version of the candle to decorate the tree with.

Reverse Advent- December 2024- Our annual reverse advent has yet again brought in a very generous amount of donations for Ashbourne Foodbank.
A Christmas Carol- November 2024- Years 4, 5 and 6 from both Clifton and Osmaston enjoyed a lovely morning together watching this classic tale on stage at Derby Theatre.

Well done to the pupils who represented our schools in Ashbourne Remembrance parade, attended the service of Remembrance and laid wreaths at The Memorial Gates. We will remember them!.
Many thanks to the Deputy Lieutenant of Derbyshire Brell Ewart, for taking them time to visit the children today to talk to them about remembrance and his role representing the monarch. It was very interesting. The act of remembrance took place at the war memorial at the Holy Trinity Church in Clifton, as Brell laid a wreath on behalf of King Charles and the children laid one on behalf of the school. "We will remember them"
All our pupils watched a performance of 'The Jungle Book' today; brought to us by the travelling theatre company. Fun was had by all! Our year 5 and 6 pupils then took part in a short workshop with the characters.
All our pupils from Year 1 to 6, took part in a Sponsored Spellathon, to help raise money for their new playground! well done everyone! Sept24

20th December 2022- Christingle & Carols 🎶 🕯 Well done to our pupils for delivering a beautiful Christingle Service this afternoon; a showcase of songs and traditional hymns alongside the story of Christmas. Thank you to family and friends for joining us. What a lovely end to a great term!
16th December 2022- Our choir visited Ashbourne Lodge Care Home today, to entertain them with a few festive tunes. They sang beautifully and really enjoyed meeting the residents 🎄🎶 Thank you again Linda Perry Smith - Soprano for joining us!

6th- 8th December 2022- Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat 🌈 Our Junior Christmas Play; executed brilliantly by our talented KS2 pupils! They sang their hearts out. Well done to all the pupils that performed- you were all amazing! And a huge thank you to the super supportive teaching team that helped put this show together.
5th- 8th December 2022- The Lost Angel 👼 Our Infant Christmas Play; written and choreographed by our very own Mrs Oxford. It was fabulous and extremely entertaining. Well done to all the pupils who performed- you were amazing! A huge thank you to Mrs O and the fantastic Infant teaching team that helped put this show together.
10th December 2022- Our School Council with this year's 'Reverse Advent' food donations. These have all now been delivered to Ashbourne Foodbank; a crucial support system within our community, especially at this time of year. This activity also demonstrates our Autumn Christian Values- Generosity and Compassion. Thank you to all pupils and parents for taking part.
9th December 2022- Christmas Jumper Day 2022 🎄🎅 We enjoyed wearing our Christmas jumpers today and raising money for Save the Children. A lovely end to a busy week!

Wow! ⭐Our school choir have just been named second place in the Derbion Christmas Choir Competition 2022!🥈 We are so proud of all the pupils who took part; they were fabulous! The competition saw 14 schools compete in the first heat, leading to 5 performing in the final. Clifton excelled themselves at both heats. Thank you to all the parents and friends who came to support them. Comments from the judges: 🌟 "Very high quality" 🌟 "Lovely overall sound" 🌟 "Great choir singing qualities, including dictation, breathing and expressions" 🌟 "Lovely start to the final and a well-prepared choir" A huge thank you to our Choirmistress Linda Perry Smith - Soprano, who was amazing throughout! 30th November 2022- Thank you to Reverend Nigel, who conducted a beautiful Advent service in Clifton's Holy Trinity Church for us this week. A lovely start to our Christmas countdown 🎄
18th November 2022- We've all had a great day raising money for such an important cause. We raised £204 for Children in Need! Well done Clifton!
13th November 2022- Invited pupils from Clifton and Osmaston joined the Ashbourne Remembrance Parade this morning, observed the Remembrance Service at St.Oswald's Church and marched back to the Memorial Gates to lay our school wreaths. We are extremely proud of how they carried themselves throughout. Lest we forget
11th November 2022- This morning, our pupils led a Service of Remembrance at Clifton Holy Trinity Church for friends and families of the school. What a moving and respectful service it was. We are very proud of all the children that took part. Thank you to everyone who joined us. At the going down of the sun and in the morning, we will remember them.
5th November 2022- It was so nice to welcome so many visitors at our Open Day today!
3rd November 2022- Ahead of Bonfire Night this weekend, Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service kindly came to offer Bonfire and Firework Safety tips to the whole school this morning. Stay safe this Bonfire Night! 🔥 🎆
At Clifton, we believe in Pupil Voice! On Monday 3rd October, we held our Pupil Elections; an opportunity for all pupils to apply for positions across the school. Applicants spoke in front of the whole school, or to their peers in class, about why they thought they would be suitable for the role they had chosen. All pupils and staff anonymously voted, votes were counted and pupils were elected. Watch this space for photos of our newly appointed School Council, Eco Committee and Sports Crew. Well done to all pupils involved!
Friday 30th September 2022- The whole school enjoyed a live performance of 'The Sword in the Stone' delivered by Image Musical Theatre. Some of our own budding actors joined the fun!
