Our turn to be tour guides! We learnt about the history of Clifton and then gave Class 1 a guided tour.
Our topic on rocks and local studies continues with a trip to Poole’s Cavern in Buxton. We learnt a lot about geology, history and the dark! After the Cavern we hiked up to Solomon’s temple for the magnificent views of Buxton and the surrounding Peaks.
We had a busy day on our field trip to Ashbourne town centre. Thank you to our fantastic, knowledgeable and entertaining guide from the Heritage Centre. Also to the welcoming staff at Ashbourne library. Also thank you to Hulmes the Fishmongers and to the owners at the Olde Sweet Shoppe and Natural Choice who patiently answered our interview questions. Finally a big thank you to everyone at the Methodist Church who welcomed us for lunch.

We had a fantastic day at The National Stone Centre. We learnt about rocks and fossils in our local area. Thank you to the very knowledgeable and enthusiastic volunteers at the Stone Centre.
Fantastic Peak District landscapes!
Watercolour skills using Derbyshire landscapes. We loved the looking at photographs of the magnificent Peak District!
We are geographers! We carried out traffic surveys to compare the traffic on the A515 and on Cock Hill.
Our local studies project has begun with making careful sketches of our school and village.
Pollinators! Look the flowers we planted have grown over the summer holidays and are attracting lots of insects just as we hoped!

Easter is coming! We used watercolours to make fantastic Easter cards.
Here are some of our Lowry inspired seascapes. We only had five colours in our palette and we mixed them to create all the colours we needed.
